Monster Crinkle Cookies

Serves: 28 cookies
- 1/2 cup Butter, Softened
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/8 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
- Food Coloring of your choice
- Candy Eyes
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line your baking sheet with a silpat or parchment paper - set aside.
- In your medium bowl combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt - set aside. (leave the powdered sugar out)
- Using a stand or hand mixer cream the butter and the granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract until well mixed.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just mixed.
- Add the food coloring of your choice - I split my dough into 2 and used green for one and orange for the other.
- Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough and roll into a ball.
- Roll the ball of dough onto the plate of powdered sugar - being sure to completely cover the dough ball of dough.
- Place on baking sheet and repeat with the rest of the dough.
- Bake for 10 minutes - until the edges look slightly golden.
- Once removed from the oven press your candy eyes into the cookie and let completely cool.
- Store in an air tight container for up to a week, or freeze up to three months
