Checking In

Hi!

Its been so long since I’ve written a post for you guys! The last 4 months have been crazy!

Like, as crazy as it gets.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know kinda what i’m talking about!

Either way I’ll give ya a bit of a run-down.

We listed our condo at the end of January after finishing up some last minute renos over the Christmas holiday.

Who thought listing and buying a house while 36 weeks pregnant was a good idea!?

Us, obviously.

Just when we thought things were as hectic as they could get, bam. Leah was born 4 weeks early.

Now that’s a whole other level of crazy. I was induced at 36 weeks with no complications other than my water had broken and they didn’t want to risk infection. We went in to the hospital at 10:30 on a Monday night just to make sure things were a-ok, we were expecting to get sent home as we had already seen our midwife that morning.

Physc! We were having a baby! Fast forward about 12 hours after arriving at the hospital and we had our little girl, Leah – weighing a whole 6 lbs and 4oz!

Usborne Family

This is the first photo we have as a family of 3(!!!)

We were in the hospital for almost a week as Leah was pretty jaundice and had got to lay under the UV lights for a day.

We were pretty ecstatic that Leah was finally here, and then we had gotten a few offers on our condo.

Ha, that’s right. We had listed our condo.

I forgot about that.. It’s like being in the hospital for that long and having our baby made me forget everything else!

Leah

I mean seriously, I may be pretty biased, but shes pretty darn cute. How could you not just forget about everything and stare at your sweet babe forever?!

Well, we accepted an offer and just like that in a month or so we needed a house to live.

Now, Victoria is one of the most ridiculous places to buy a house right now. Where we were living before houses were selling for upwards of 600,000 for a 3 bedroom house built in the 1970’s with a looot of work to be done. Crazy town right?!

So, we bought a little 3 bedroom house a little further our from where we were, and are finally settling in.

There are lots of boxes to be unpacked, little things to be done here and there. But, we have a house!

We have a little backyard. A kitchen that can fit more than one person at a time! And lots and lots of natural light! And best of all, we don’t have to share walls with anymore university students! Wahoo!

Leah

Leah loves to sit with us in the backyard while we enjoy a cup of tea in the mornings.

In all this madness I’ve been testing a few recipes here and there. You should be on the lookout for Homemade Granola Bars, Homemade Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Sweet Potato Brownies(!!), a muddy buddy recipe, and apple crisp.

See? There are food posts and photos in the near future.

But for now, I’m going to go snuggle my 3 month old(!!) and enjoy a cup of tea.
